Habits is more than just a new release — it’s a full-circle moment. The track was the very first rap Sophie Mac ever wrote as a teenager. Now 34, she is finally releasing the emotionally charged song that reflects her journey of quitting bad habits and committing fully to her music career. The single showcases her remarkable range, blending soulful, heartfelt vocals with hard-hitting rap verses.

Although Sophie Mac has been performing since the age of 20, it’s in the past four years that she has truly taken her music career to new heights. Her breakthrough television appearance came on The Piano on Channel 4, where she stunned audiences by playing piano live and rapping — despite it being the first time she had ever performed piano in front of anyone.

Presenter Claudia Winkleman described her as “amazing,” while global pop star Mika and world-renowned pianist Lang Lang were equally full of praise. Lang Lang commented: “She’s so powerful, very emotional, she really carries well with the emotions, really gives her everything.”

Sophie Mac has since performed at major regional events including WrexFest in Wrexham, Femstival and the huge Primal Live song contest in Liverpool — where she was runner-up and now serves as a mentor to emerging grassroots talent.

Her track Thrive, a collaboration with Tripl3 focusing on mental health, was featured in a Sky Television documentary exploring the subject. She has also been championed by BBC Introducing four times in the last two years, further cementing her reputation as one of the region’s most exciting independent artists.

True to her collaborative spirit, Sophie will also be joined by artists and rappers from across the country and support on the night comes from the super talented John Roche, JP Cumberlidge, OTB, Ada Blue and Enya.

With tickets flying out and a diverse and high-energy line-up, the event is shaping up to be one of the standout nights in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle calendar. For Sophie Mac, Habits represents reflection, growth and determination and for fans, it promises an unforgettable evening of raw talent and powerful performance.
