Rhyl’s buzzing live music hub, Ellis’ Vaults, is turning up the volume for a cause this summer with a massive Live Aid-style event on Saturday 19th July, kicking off from 5pm. The special event marks 40 years since the original Live Aid concert in 1985 and it’s free to attend.
At the heart of the event is a very personal cause. Funds raised on the night will go to the North West Kidney Trust, a charity close to the performers’ hearts. Joel Goldberg, founder of headline act Diamond Dogs, is living proof of the life-saving work being done in kidney care.
Joel, who is currently on dialysis due to kidney failure, credits his survival to a life-saving transplant – and now he’s giving back the best way he knows how: through music. On the night, Liverpool legends Diamond Dogs will perform sets packed with iconic anthems from the original Live Aid line-up. Expect powerful performances and nostalgic vibes that will transport you straight back to the summer of ’85.
Also hitting the stage are top local favourites Everhart Duo – known for their electrifying chemistry and pitch-perfect harmonies — and Joseph Leo. Both acts will be delivering the very best in 80s hits, for an 80s extravaganza like no other at Rhyl’s vibrant live music venue!
Throughout the evening, charity buckets will be dotted around the venue, giving attendees the chance to donate and show their support for kidney health awareness and treatment — set to be a fantastic event and all for a wonderful cause.
