As part of the Wirral Borough of Culture 2024, Liscard Sound and Vision is a creative, collaborative project working with young people from around Liscard areas to encourage engagement and community connections by participating in creative diversionary activities working with the Wallasey Detached Youth Work Team and the Liscard Youth Space.
The project activities include music production, visual arts and graffiti art sessions to produce murals and light projection visual displays that will be delivered at the Liscard Christmas event taking place from November 28th. The project has also provided art and musical equipment and that can continue creative work as a legacy to the project and the mobile youth provision ‘kontactabus’ was used to take the project to the young people..
The project partners include Liscard Community Links CiC and local arts and cultural organisations including Convenience Gallery, Focal Studios, Resilient NW, Break the Mould working in collaboration with the police, McDonald’s and Wirral Borough Council.
The festival is part of an on-going programme of events by Liscard Together Regeneration Partnership to revitalise the town centre and the partnership is led by local partners, businesses and community groups. The festival is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority.
