The Block Armed Forces Foundation will host a special charity Sleep Out event on Friday 15th May 2026 at Luke’s Church, widely known as The Bombed Out Church, in Liverpool, to raise awareness of homelessness and the ongoing challenges faced by military service leavers across the UK.

The event will bring together veterans, volunteers, local organisations, and members of the public for an evening dedicated to highlighting the realities many former service personnel face after leaving the Armed Forces. Participants will spend the night outdoors in solidarity with those experiencing homelessness, while helping raise vital funds and awareness for support services aimed at assisting veterans in crisis.

Homelessness among ex-service personnel remains a significant issue, with many veterans encountering difficulties transitioning to civilian life, including mental health struggles, financial hardship, social isolation, and lack of stable accommodation. The Block Armed Forces Foundation is committed to providing practical support, advocacy, and community outreach to help prevent veterans from falling through the cracks.

“This Sleep Out is about more than one night outdoors,” said the charity’s founder Colin Eastaway, who served in the Iraq and Afghanistan with the Paras. “It’s about starting conversations, bringing good people together, raising awareness, and showing support for the men and women who have served our country and are now facing some of the hardest battles of their lives.”
