Liverpool is gearing up for an unforgettable extravaganza of music, community and fundraising as Primal Live Charity Song Contest returns to the city. The huge showcase takes place at Invisible Wind Factory on Saturday 25th October, from 3pm – 9pm, and will feature some of the best artists and bands in the region.
A song contest featuring top talent that raises money for charity at the same time, Primal Live is a chance to experience over 30 of the best music acts in the region for just £20. As featured by The Liverpool Echo, BBC North West Tonight and NME, the event promises an incredible variety of live performances with a carnival atmosphere, while raising money for The Whitechapel Centre for the homeless.
Primal Live has built a reputation for being the biggest charity song contest in the North West and the next event looks set to raise the bar even higher. With an expected 36 acts performing, audiences can look forward to an eclectic mix of styles — ranging from rap, reggae and rock to acoustic sets, soul singers and cabaret.
This variety ensures that no matter your taste in music, there will be something to move, inspire and entertain. The artists and bands compete in heats and the audience gets to vote for who goes through, with a big final at the end — much like The Voice, X Factor and Battle Of The Bands events.
More than just a music contest, Primal Live is about making a difference. The event is being staged in support of The Whitechapel Centre, a vital Liverpool charity working to support homeless people in rebuilding their lives, and the fundraising effort has already raised thousands of pounds before the event.
Co-Organiser Samantha Sampson said: “Primal Live is very special indeed and we’re really proud of what we’ve created. The artists and bands are always top draw and the atmosphere at our events is amazing! Judging by rehearsals, the next event is going to be absolutely incredible too! We’re so excited to be bringing our fifth event back to Liverpool and raising more money for a fantastic local charity.”
The artists involved have been on a seven week development programme and there’s a serious prize for the winners. The Primal Live winners will take home a comprehensive package including SAE studio recording time, a songwriting course from ICMP and a tailored EPK (Electronic Press Kit). This package offers a massive boost for any emerging artist looking to take their career to the next level.
