Legendary film critic, musician and presenter Mark Kermode is bringing a very special tribute to post-punk icons Gang Of Four to Birkenhead this October. On Friday 17th October, Mark Kermode, Simon Booth and Stephen Hiscock’s Gang Of Three will be playing Gang Of Four’s groundbreaking album ‘Entertainment’ in its entirety.

The evening is a homage to the seminal punk-funk album Entertainment by Gang Of Four — the post-punk heroes who inspired the likes of Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and REM. Their groundbreaking debut album is widely hailed as one of the most influential records of the post-punk era — it was ranked #5 on Rolling Stone’s list of the greatest punk albums of all time and #273 on their list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
With its mix of jagged guitar lines, driving rhythms, and lyrics that took aim at consumerism, war, and inequality, Entertainment! remains a landmark in political music. On the night, Mark Kermode, Simon Booth and Stephen Hiscock — aka Gang Of Three — will deliver a full-album live performance with punchy riffs, socio-political energy and vintage intensity.

Led by film critic-turned-musician Mark Kermode, the trio brings authenticity, precision and reverence to each track — imbued with raw, punchy live energy. Punk and post-punk outfits The Dose and Grenades open the show, offering gritty support sets that build atmosphere before the main event.
