Georgina has been looking after her disabled son, Alessio. Ever since birth, Alessio has suffered from seizures and debilitations and in some cases has completely stopped breathing — almost resulting in him losing his life — but it is ironically due to this that she invented some ground-breaking products.

Georgina explained: “Life with Alessio for the past 19 years has been very difficult but I would do anything for him. He suffers from an auto immune condition called Juvenile Idopathic Arthritis with no cure. Also, a few other serious conditions, some diagnosed and some un-diagnosed, and on my occasions he had seizures that resulted in him stopping breathing and almost dying. I was actually advised by the consultant that Alessio will not live pass one year of age. Truly a medical miracle.”
She continued: “In 2011 I attended a free course in bath bombs and soaps making and then started to attend courses in making natural skin care. I began to make natural and organic products at home such as bath bombs, soaps, body lotion, body butter, exfoliating scrub, lip balm and more. I found it very therapeutic and my handmade products became very popular but my big breakthrough was when Alessio was being treated for chemotherapy.”

One night in 2013, Georgina kissed Alessio goodnight and found lots of hair on his pillow. She broke down and cried as he was losing his hair due to the chemotherapy. Interestingly, her neighbour came over to ask for help in creating a pH neutral shampoo for her as she had just finished chemotherapy too.

With the help of her trainers, Georgina created the magic Ultra mild shampoo and conditioner that aids healthy hair growth. Stated as a ‘miracle’ at the time, both Alessio and her neighbour grew a full head of glossy hair. These haircare products have helped many since — with many people on chemotherapy coming forward to praise the product’s results.

Georgina explained: “I love my son so much and would do anything for him. I started making natural products as an outlet for myself but it’s so beautiful that this resulted in me creating products that cured his hair loss but also a shea butter that healed the psoriasis that caused him so much pain. Once I realised the power of what I could do I began to experiment with more formulas.”

Georgina went on to create some ground-breaking products, including a famous anti-aging serum which is also great in reducing acne and scarring, Elixir aka ‘Miracle In A Bottle’ and ‘Botox In A Bottle’ that sold internationally via her white label clients. Of course, Georgina isn’t able to provide names of those companies as it’s confidential being white label.

Her products exploded in popularity and this has resulted in Georgina having white label clients in Dubai, America and Europe selling her products under their brand. Most of her white label clients are from the beauty industry including many well-known training academies and beauty companies.

Georgina explained: “Yours Naturally Naturally Yours became a big hit overnight following the shampoo, shea butter, Elixir and serum products and it has helped me to save money for Alessio when I’m gone as he requires 24/7 care, basically leaving a legacy to him ensuring he is well looked after.“
She continued: “This will be my deepest worry as a mum, leaving your child with complex needs including severe communication difficulties behind with no immediate family around. I have many sleepless nights over it and that’s what keeps me going with my business — knowing my miracle creations are funding his future.”

Talking more about Alessio and the challenges of running a business whilst caring for him, she said: “I was working round the clock with my dedicated hardworking team trying to cater to the demand and in between, I still found time to care for my son’s additional needs.”
She continued: “For example, Alessio has multiple life-threatening allergies, therefore everything has to be cooked from scratch to ensure his safety. I always find time to cook but we could be eating dinner at 9pm. He never complained and always thanked me with a smile for cooking.“

Georgina told us: “Despite having severe Autism, he has deep emotions and cares for me, his mummy, by pulling up a chair for me and brining me my slippers when I get home. If I am ill, he advises me to rest. It’s known that Autistic people are literal thinking and struggle in expressing emotions but not in Alessio’s case. He is one loving, caring and well-mannered young man with a beautiful soul! He’s the world’s best son.”

Now almost 60, Georgina Tang continues to work wonders with her handmade products — supplying through her online shop and only to select businesses. Countless people with a wide range of conditions have given rave reviews about her skincare and haircare products, whilst she’s also seen big demand for her scented candle range.
Having the right work and life balance means that Georgina can run her multi-award winning independent business whilst providing enough love, care and time for her disabled son, but it has also given her some time to reflect upon her life now approaching 60 years of age.

Georgina’s life has been traumatic to say the least. As a child in Hong Kong she suffered shocking physical and mental abuse, as well as harsh poverty. This continued when the family moved to the UK when she was 13, without being able to speak a word of English, and her mother threw her out at 16. Fortunately, she met a very kind career officer named David Akerman who helped her make a life for herself.
She eventually met her Italian husband but was very ill whilst pregnant with Alessio and was sacked from a high paid Director’s role in social housing because of this. Times became hard financially and she almost died during Alessio’s birth — only to then live a life knowing he could die any day. It’s been a struggle but she lives for Alessio and it’s thanks to him that she’s created products that have helped many people.

Talking about her journey, Georgina said: “My life has been very difficult but I now have several degrees including Psychology, Sociology and Housing and a very successful business despite lots of trauma. To make use of an old cliché, when life has thrown me lemons, I’ve always been determined to find a way to make the very best lemonade I can.”

So what’s the secret to her success? She told us: “The secret of my success will always be this — life is what you make it. So, grit those teeth, take the positives from difficult situations and make the decision to flourish; do this and you WILL make it. This is my story.”

From a traumatic childhood that consisted of abuse, torture and poverty, almost dying whilst giving birth and having a son with debilitating and life-threatening conditions, Georgina has defeated the odds to become an incredibly successful woman in business — albeit an unsung hero in many respects.
She summarized: “My life experiences have enabled me to become a firm believer in miracles.
