NESTON BOUTIQUE TO DONATE TO LOCAL COMMUNITY WITH EACH SALE!

Founded in 2023, fashion boutique Wardrobe At The Cross has established itself as a gem of the Neston high street, offering a range of beautiful and sustainable pieces of clothing along with priceless styling advice, with a big focus on body positivity and improving confidence and mental health.

The store has received praise for providing a safe space for women to rediscover their style whilst being full supported through the styling process. Having received the Highly Commended Boutique in the Boutique Magazine Awards 2024, owner Hilary James has now decided to increase the store’s positive impact by supporting the wider Neston community.

Wardrobe At The Cross is donating 15p of every online order to the Shop 4 Neston charity. This will provide funds which can be put towards important causes in the market town, such as the renovation of communal buildings like Neston Town Hall. This latest initiative is an extension of their existing support which has included offering vouchers at Parkgate and Woodfall school fairs and donations to causes such as Gemma Barber’s Charity Ball that raised money for Hip Dysplasia Charity.

Whilst located in a market town that’s somewhat cut off and doesn’t receive too many outside visitors, Wardrobe At The Cross has become a big success. Thanks to a strong digital presence, the boutique has customers come from across the country and Ireland. The store is very much a family business, with her her husband Graham and her daughters Elly, Katy and their friends all helping out.

Speaking of combining her love of fashion with supporting local causes, Hilary says: “Wardrobe At The Cross was built on good values — supporting independent suppliers whilst improving the confidence and mental health of women through fashion. We’ve always had an ethos of giving back and the new initiative will offer an ongoing boost for the Neston.“

Wardrobe At The Cross continues to support local businesses by stocking locally made products such as candles and wax melts from Owen Drew and going out of the way to make use of local independent businesses such as local insurance broker Aldium and local shop A+O discounts, from which the store buy all of their storage boxes.

This commitment to supporting the local community, along with their 250 five star reviews on Trustpilot and Google, has cemented Wardrobe At The Cross’ reputation as a pillar of the Neston community. Coming up very soon is a charity fashion event to raise money for local neurodiversity and education project Inspiring Minds CIC.

Hilary summarises: “While the boutique aims to primarily empower women through ethical, sustainable fashion, I also aim to help as many people in the wider community as possible. Whether it’s using local suppliers, donating to local charities, hosting charity nights or the new initiative of giving back to Shop 4 Neston, I’m trying to create an ecosystem where everyone benefits.”

The award winning boutique Wardrobe At The Cross provides not just a haven for beautiful fashion items and a personal styling service, but a space for charitable events and a supporter of the wider community. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of supporting high street independents and their ecosystems in return.
