NEW MURAL TO BE UNVEILED IN NEW BRIGHTON!

By the end of February, a major new piece of public art will be revealed in the heart of New Brighton’s Victoria Quarter — a work that celebrates local heroes, everyday care and what we’re calling a cycle of renewal.

This mural isn’t about grand statements imposed from above. It’s about the people who quietly keep a place alive: the volunteers, the gardeners, the litter pickers, the creatives — the ones who show up, week after week, because they care. In New Brighton, nowhere embodies that spirit more clearly than New Brighton in Bloom.

This project is, in many ways, a tribute to them. We’re incredibly excited to be working with SNIK, one of the UK’s most respected and internationally recognised street art duos. Their work can be found across Manchester, London, Bristol, Stockport, Aberdeen and Brighton, as well as internationally in Italy, Norway, France, Portugal, Germany, Hong Kong and the USA.

Their murals are regularly featured by major arts publications and shared widely online — with recent projects achieving well over three million views on Instagram alone. What many people don’t realise is that SNIK already have work hidden in plain sight here in New Brighton. If you know, you know. If you don’t — now’s the perfect time to explore Victoria Quarter with fresh eyes.

This new mural builds on that legacy, but it also pushes things further. For the public reveal, New Brighton Creative Futures CIC is partnering with Focal Point to deliver something genuinely special. Rather than a standard unveiling, the artwork will be animated using projection mapping, motion graphics and interactive media, transforming the wall into a living, breathing canvas for one night only. It’s about making street art feel alive. Not something you pass on the way to somewhere else — but something you stop for. Something you experience.

This project is delivered by New Brighton Creative Futures CIC with support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Wirral Council, and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. We’re hugely grateful to the council officers and teams behind the scenes who continue to support ambitious, community-led cultural work.

There are also opportunities for the public to get involved. A series of limited-edition collector’s prints by SNIK will be available, with all proceeds going directly towards supporting this mural and future public artworks in New Brighton.

Then, in March, we’ll be hosting a charity benefit night at Riptide/Oakland Gallery on Victoria Road. Expect a silent auction, raffle, live music, DJ’s, poetry, spoken word, and contributions from both international street artists and local talent. All proceeds will be split between New Brighton Creative Futures and New Brighton in Bloom. More details will be announced very soon.

We’re also keen to hear from local and commercial businesses who want to support future murals through sponsorship and partnership. These artworks don’t just live on walls — they travel. Our recent Captain Mike Lowe mural reached millions internationally, and this next piece is set to go even further. So for now:
keep your eyes open follow SNIK and NBCF on social media and visit our website. Because by the end of February, we’re putting some serious love back into New Brighton — and this is just the beginning.
