I AM ME Collective CIC has unveiled its new headquarters in Hamilton Square, creating a dedicated space where young people aged 11 to 25 can access education, creative opportunities and wellbeing support under one roof. All activities will be fully funded or subsidised — bridging the gap in education and learning.

The organisation, which delivers programmes across Wirral and Chester, uses dance, music, art and mindfulness to help young people build confidence, explore their identity and reconnect with learning. Now, the team behind the project is asking the local community, businesses and supporters to help bring their vision to life by backing a new Crowdfunder campaign.

The fundraising appeal aims to raise £100,000 to purchase specialist equipment and resources needed to fully develop the new hub. Funds raised will help create a state-of-the-art media suite, recording studio, youth-led radio station, dance studio and hair and beauty training space, while also supporting programmes and courses for young people.

The new hub has been designed to support young people from all backgrounds, including those who may not thrive in traditional educational settings. Alongside extracurricular activities, the centre will offer alternative education provision during term time, creating new pathways into learning, skills development and future employment opportunities.

Programmes at the hub will focus on areas including music production, graphic design, videography and editing, dance, mindfulness, meditation and wellbeing, providing young people with practical skills and opportunities to discover their passions. The organisation says the hub is intended to be “a safe, inspiring environment” where young people can grow in confidence, express themselves and feel seen and heard.

I AM ME Collective CIC’s Becky Jones said: “We’ve been doing great work with young people across the region, giving them new-found passion for creativity and learning. We’ve seen some remarkable results and it’s been a joy to see them succeed — including young people with mental health and confidence issues overcoming their fears and performing on stage. With support and funding we can change even more lives.”

Co-Director Rakeem Lewis added: “The launch of the hub marks a significant milestone for us. We’ve been steadily expanding our community and education programmes across the region and having our own centre will take things to the next level. The open day was a great success — with tours of the space and performances from the youths we work with. We’re now calling for support to help us develop the hub.”

Rewards are available for those who donate — with various tiers available.
