Manchester is gearing up for an unforgettable extravaganza of music, community and fundraising as the Primal Live Charity Song Contest arrives in the city. The huge showcase takes place at Band on the Wall on Sunday 21st September, running from 3pm – 8pm, and will feature some of the best artists and bands in the region.
After taking Liverpool by storm, Primal Live has become something truly special — a song contest featuring top talent that raises money for charity at the same time. As featured by The Liverpool Echo, BBC North West Tonight and NME, this event promises an incredible variety of live performances, while raising money and awareness for Manchester’s leading homeless charity, the Booth Centre.
Primal Live has built a reputation for its carnival-like atmosphere and the Manchester edition looks set to raise the bar even higher. With an expected 25–35 acts performing, audiences can look forward to an eclectic mix of styles — ranging from rap, reggae and rock, to acoustic sets, soul singers and even the unique sound of the guzheng, a traditional Chinese string instrument.
This variety ensures that no matter your taste in music, there will be something to move, inspire and entertain. The artists and bands compete in heats and the audience gets to vote for who goes through, with a big final at the end — much like The Voice, X Factor and Battle Of The Bands events.
More than just a music contest, Primal Live is about making a difference. The event is being staged in support of the Booth Centre, a vital Manchester charity working to support homeless people in rebuilding their lives, and the fundraising effort has already raised thousands of pounds before the event.
Co-Organiser Samantha Sampson said: “Primal Live is very special indeed and we’re really proud of what we’ve created. The artists and bands at the Liverpool events have been unbelievable and the atmosphere at our events is amazing! Judging by rehearsals, the Manchester event is going to be absolutely incredible too! We’re so excited to be bringing the event to Manchester and raising money for a fantastic local charity.”
The artists involved have been on a seven week development programme and there’s a serious prize for the winners. The Primal Live winners will take home a comprehensive package including studio recording time, a professionally filmed music video by Samzy at Lab51 and a tailored EPK (Electronic Press Kit). This package offers a massive boost for any emerging artist looking to take their career to the next level.
Primal Live is coming to Band on the Wall on Sunday 21st September, running from 3pm – 8pm, featuring top quality live acts from the Manchester region. Tickets are priced at £20 and with the buzz already building and a line-up as diverse as it is exciting, demand is expected to be strong.
