The Hut is the loving creation of husband and wife team Gayan and Shanika, who moved to Wirral with their three children in 2021, and together they’ve introduce Wirral diners to the taste and flavours of Sri Lanka. Food is prepared using fresh ingredients and spices are shipped from the fields of Sri Lanka by Shanika’s father, whilst she uses recipes passed down from her late mother.

Whether you’re looking for something mild or something spicy, The Hut has a dish for everyone. Devilled Corner has been a big hit amongst those who like spicy dishes — a delicious dish that packs a punch, with succulent meat marinated in a fiery blend of spices. Their Colombo style Nasi Goreng is also a popular pick — fried rice with a mixture of carrots, chicken and prawn, served with a fried egg and chilli paste.
