Mariners’ Park Care Home is situated in a prime location in Egremont, overlooking the banks of the River Mersey and with immaculately kept grounds. There are many activities to keep the residents entertained, from live entertainment, visits from specials guests, games and flower arranging to cheese and wine afternoons and movie nights. Meanwhile, top quality food is served by the talented kitchen team.
The home offers 24/7 residential care and nursing, as well as dementia and palliative care. The dedicated dementia wing is led by a team of dementia champions, a specialist dementia nurse and an admiral nurse who can provide life changing support for families affected by all forms of dementia. Anyone above 60 years’ of age who requires care is welcome to apply for a room on the estate.

The latest recognition comes during an exceptional period for Mariners’ Park, with no less than eight members of its team shortlisted at this year’s Great British Care Awards. The staggering number of Finalists reflects the incredible levels of care the team have been providing for their residents. The nominations are:

The remarkable eight nominations continue an impressive run of recognition for the Wirral care home. Last year, Mariners’ Park Manager Grace Holley was named National Care Home Registered Manager of the Year at the Great British Care Awards, recognising her leadership and work at the home.
A Registered Nurse with extensive experience at Mariners’ Park and in hospitals, Grace leads a large multidisciplinary team spanning nursing, healthcare, hospitality and domestic roles. Previous recognition for the organisation has also included an Excellent PAMMS rating and a Gold Investors in People Award.

The estate has also received the Royal seal of approval, with two Royal visits during the past year. Most recently, the waterfront residential home in Egremont welcomed The Duke of Edinburgh on Wednesday 23rd September — following a visit from HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, in 2025.

One resident, 94-year-old Doreen said: “I’ve been here for three years now and it’s such a great place to be. The views are stunning and it’s lovely to watch the boats coming up and down the Mersey. There are many activities for us to get involved in such as keep fit classes and the entertainer Mark — we’re never bored although there’s never any pressure. I love it here!”
Fellow resident Alice added: “The staff here are wonderful and the girls deserve the awards nominations. They are all so caring and nothing is ever too much. On the day of my granddaughter’s wedding, Marie took me and was fantastic throughout the day — they really do go the extra mile here. It’s great to see them being recognised for the work they do.”
