The awards are open to young people aged 7 to 17 who live in the Merseyside region. Anyone — teachers, parents, friends, or community members — can nominate a child who has made a positive difference. Whether through acts of bravery, dedication to others, or overcoming personal challenges, each nominee represents the spirit of hope and resilience that the awards aim to highlight.
Each year culminates in a high-profile celebration event, typically held at the iconic Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. From all nominations, a shortlist is created, and ten winners are invited — along with their families — to attend a memorable evening dedicated to their achievements. Importantly, every nominee receives recognition, ensuring that all contributions are valued — not just those of the final winners.

The Believe Awards were established in 2012 by the Bootle-based charity Ykids, an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and families across Merseyside. The core mission behind the awards is simple yet profound: to challenge misconceptions about young people by recognising those who demonstrate courage, selflessness, and a commitment to helping others.

Ykids’ CEO Claire Morgans said: “The Believe Awards truly are special events and there are many tears shed on the night. The Believe Awards are open to nominations of young people aged 7-17 living in Merseyside. Nominations are now open and will close on 25th May 2026. 10 winners will each receive 4 free tickets to the event. People can nominate a child via the online form on the dedicate website of The Believe Awards.
