The Liverpool City Region’s most uplifting celebration is officially returning later this year, as The Guide Liverpool Heroes Awards 2026 prepares to once again shine a spotlight on the incredible people and organisations who make Liverpool such a special place.

Last year’s inaugural ceremony was a night that won’t be forgotten, as 55 finalists were honoured and 20 local heroes were recognised for their courage, compassion and remarkable impact. Over 1million people watched The Guide Heroes celebrations on social media, too!
And, with so many individuals, groups, charities and businesses continuing to inspire the city region with their resilience, kindness and superhuman efforts for their communities, it was clear to The Guide Liverpool that the awards simply had to return for 2026.

This year, The Guide Liverpool Heroes Awards will be brought to you by Merseyrail and in partnership with San Carlo Restaurants and Liverpool BID Company…a powerful collaboration who are proud of this region and its people, taking place at the Titanic Hotel on Saturday 28th November.
Reflecting on last year’s event, Jay Hynd, The Guide Liverpool director and Founder of the awards, says: “Last year’s inaugural Heroes event was a night we won’t ever forget. Celebrating the very individuals and organisations that make what we do at The Guide worthwhile was a dream come true. That’s why we had to bring it back for 2026.”

Last year’s winners included some of the region’s most inspiring figures and organisations, including: The Southport Families of Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe and Alice Da Silva Aguiar, who received a Special Award for the charities they have each created in their daughters memories from former Chief Constable of Merseyside Serena Kennedy, bringing the audience to their feet…and to tears.
Speedo Mick, honoured for his extraordinary fundraising achievements and his journey overcoming homelessness, addiction and mental health challenges to raise more than £1m for charities. Mark King OBE, founder of the Oliver King Foundation, recognised for his tireless work to install life-saving defibrillators across public places following the tragic loss of his son Oliver.

Other winners included Zoe’s Place, Fans Supporting Food Banks, North West Air Ambulance, Nightlife CIC, Tim Edwards and John May, Weapons Down Gloves Up and more. Claire House Children’s Hospice was named Charity of the Year, meaning the 2026 event will support its vital new West Derby hospice.
