Wirral’s multi-award winning singer-songwriter, Mike Ryan, is hosting his new album launch at Start Yard in Birkenhead on Saturday 21st June — with some incredible support acts on the bill alongside him! Mike will be performing his new album, The Space Where You Should Be, following the breathtaking Ava Fitz and grunge outfit The Cherry Waves.

A night of captivating music is in store at Start Yard, as Mike Ryan delivers his new album in all its glory. Blending Indie-folk and melodic-rock, he has played throughout Merseyside, including performances at the Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room and Future Yard and has developed a reputation as one of the region’s brightest songwriting stars.
A two-time winner of the Liverpool Acoustic Song Writing Challenge Award, his new the album The Space Where You Should Be is a much anticipated masterpiece. At the launch event, the audience will have the chance to hear it live for the first time — with two other incredible musicians performing on the night.

Ava Fitz is another shining light, having won the huge Primal Live song contest at Camp & Furnace after blowing the audience and judges away. The 16-year-old has enjoyed great recognition and air play from BBC and is touted as one of the most exciting young talents in Merseyside.

Meanwhile, The Cherry Waves are an up and coming indie grunge shoegaze band, consisting of three 15 year olds and an 18 year old and inspired by bands such as Deftones and Evanescence. Mike Ryan’s album launch is an exciting opportunity to see these young guns smash it before they reach dizzy heights.

The launch event is being hosted alongside local music project Events 471, who have recently teamed up with Mike to create 471 Records — an ethical record label that aims to give local up and coming artists a fair deal and platform to get seen and heard. The night promises to be a showcase of some of the best local artists on the scene.
