EMMA WHARTON RELEASES POWERFUL SINGLE IN MEMORY OF LATE PARTNER!

A 26-year-old singer songwriter from Wirral has released a powerful single in memory of her late partner Dan who tragically took his own life when he was just 25 year old. Emma Nicole Wharton has released Slipped Away in his memory, playing the guitar that he bought for her before he died.

Emma’s singing journey began when she was 14 years of age and by 16 she was bravely stepping onto the stage for her first open mic night. Emma said, “Music has always been my sanctuary. It serves as a powerful release for me and I find immense joy in how music unites people from all walks of life around the globe”.
When she turned 21, her partner Dan gifted her with a guitar. Even though she didn’t know how to play, she would spend countless hours singing as he partner strummed along — making beautiful music together. Tragically, in 2020, Emma’s world was turned upside down as he committed suicide.
Emma said, “He was an incredible person and his absence left a profound void in my life. The world felt so dark and I struggled to find my purpose without him. I found myself longing for the harmonies we created together, for the sound of his guitar accompanying my voice”.

Determined to reconnect with that bond, she picked up the guitar he had bought her, despite not knowing how to play. “Dream Catch Me” by Newton Faulkner was the last song they sang together and it became her mission to learn the songs they cherished.
From that moment on, she dedicated her time to learning the guitar until she could play that very song. “Each time I sang it, I felt a connection to him, a way to feel close again“, Emma says. She then decided to write her own songs and in particular, Slipped Away, a special dedication to Dan.

Emma said, “The song came to me in about ten minutes, like many of my compositions do—fuelled by raw emotions. It was the first song I wrote that included chords, and it deeply reflected my feelings of loss. I wanted to create something that would resonate with others who have endured dark times or lost loved ones”.
Her journey took an exciting turn when she landed a record deal. As she prepared to release “Slipped Away,” unforeseen challenges arose, however. At a low point, she received a message from Nikki Hines, who works with Vicky Hamilton — the first manager and founder of Guns N Roses. Nikki had been following her journey for months.

After being recognised by these two influential figures, Emma went to re-record Slipped Away with the help of Bookshop Studios, John Riley, Chris Bailey, and Paul Franklin. It was then mastered by Two Zero Nine Mastering and the end result was a powerful and poignant masterpiece dedicated to Dan.
Emma summarised, “And now, here I am, grateful for the opportunity to share my story and music with the world. I hope my journey resonates with others and inspires those facing their challenges to find healing through the power of music”.
