EVENTS 471 ANNOUNCE NEW SHOWS AFTER 50TH EVENT!
Wirral events company, Events 471, have announced new shows after reaching their milestone 50th event! The team are celebrating 18 months of success, in which they’ve sold around 4,500 tickets over 50 events, and have announced some amazing new shows featuring When Rivers Meet, Liz Owen, The Beggs Sisters and DaGoogie aka Deb Googe from My Bloody Valentine….
HOLLOWBODY: Sat 5th Oct, Rough Trade Liverpool
Blending stadium guitar riffs, toy-box synthesisers, bittersweet melodies and fuzzed up rhythm, HOLLOWBODY brew an alternative sound that draws from Indie, Rock and Dance. With support from WULL, an explosive band who have support from the likes of BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 and Dave Monks from BBC Radio Merseyside, and modern Indie Rock band Rioja.
Liz Owen Album Launch: Sat 19th Oct, StartYard
Join Events 471 for the long-awaited launch of Liz Owen’s highly anticipated album, Beautiful Beasts. This special evening promises to be an unforgettable experience, filled with mesmerising melodies and emotive performances. With support from Racheal Jean Harris, who has received top praise from BBC6 Music’s Tom Robinson, and the award winning artist and songwriter Mike Ryan.
When Rivers Meet: Sun 10th Nov, FutureYard
When Rivers Meet are going back to their roots, touring the UK as a duo for the first time since 2019. British husband and wife artists Grace & Aaron Bond are the first Independent Rock/Blues Band to have had a Top 10 in the UK Official Album Charts. ‘Band Of The Year’ for three consecutive years, they have earned a place in the UK Blues Hall of Fame and the title of ‘Best New Band’ from the UK’s largest rock radio station.
The Beggs Sisters: Sat 16th Nov, FutureYard
After an incredible reaction at Future Yard in November, The Beggs Sisters are back with beautiful harmonies. Daughters of Nick Beggs, who initially found fame in the 80s with the band Kajagoogoo, you can expect a mesmerising performance from the sisters. Featuring support from the super talented Jenny Colquitt and Miles Temp, it’s set to be a captivating night of acoustic music.
Da Googie: Fri 6th Dec, FutureYard
Da Googie is the solo project of Deb Googe, renowned bass player from My Bloody Valentine, Thurston Moore Group, and Brix Smith. Da Googie is a mesmerising blend of traditional bass lines with abstract noises and field recordings, creating intricate, layered soundscapes that captivate and challenge the listener. With support from Loop Fader, the audiovisual electronica brainchild of Simon Kilgallon.
With more shows to be announced, Events 471 is going from strength to strength. Much more than an events company, they develop local music artists by giving them support, guidance and content in addition to giving them a platform and the opportunity to perform alongside international acts.
Putting on big shows featuring the likes of Anika Nilles, Everything Yes and Xander & The Peace Pirates, Events 471 have been making waves in the local music scene. They have also been hosting monthly jazz and spoken word nights at Start Yard in Birkenhead, as well as art exhibitions. Meanwhile, their CIC has secured Borough Of Culture funding for a music and mental health project coming soon.
