LVL: Firstly, how does it feel to be celebrating 20 years of EVOL? Congratulations!
Revo: Where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday we were starting our nights out in the basement of EBGBs when the upstairs was a building site. Quite the milestone in terms of longevity as most of the venues and periods we all talk about in Liverpool lasted 3 to 4 years so to be around still working away all this time later is an achievement in itself.

LVL: So, what’s this Osees gig all about in celebration?
Revo: Still being here to be honest but when you get the chance to rebook an artist that you’ve worked with before who blew your head off at the time, you take it and we would never say no to the Osees.
They’re a group with a 20+ year history and when I first saw them in Austin 10 years ago I was hooked, one of the greatest live experiences of my life. So for a 20th anniversary celebration you enjoy it in the best way possible with one of your favourite artists.

LVL: What can we expect on the night?
Revo: Osees have an extensive back catalogue and are a band you have to hook off stage as they could, and probably would, play all night — but expect all the fan favourites and a blend of their current output. The show will have a powerful frenetic energy whilst being psychedelic, out there and life affirming. They’re one of the best at the peak of their powers.

LVL: Looking back on 20 years of EVOL, what are your most memorable gigs?
Revo: There’s a few and depending on the day and how I feel I may give you different answers but some of my favourites have been….
Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Friendly Fires, CSS, Peaches, Ladytron, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Courtney Barnett, Caribou, White Denim, Jarvis Cocker, Young Fathers, Sleaford Mods, Idles, Fontaines DC, The Mysterines, Red Rum Club, and recently Dadi Fryer who we had on last week at Jimmy’s and was a glorious breath of fresh air.

LVL: What can we expect from EVOL for the rest of 2023?
Revo: We’re keeping on, have a few big announcements to come and plenty of shows in the pipeline ranging across all the venues we use in Liverpool so the rest of the year and 2024 will be busy for us. Lots of the artists we’ve been working with are stepping up and the homegrown talent is doing really well, I think probably the best I’ve seen in my time as a promoter.
