A free independent music conference is coming to Liverpool courtesy of La Vida Liverpool magazine. The event is taking place at Round The Corner in The Fabric District from 2pm on Sunday 2nd July and will feature a host of key guest speakers and live performances from top local talent.

The free event aims to bring people from the local music scene together for a day of networking, information sharing and celebration. From musicians, photographers and videographers to promoters, managers and venue owners — there will be plenty of opportunity for making new connections.

Guest speakers include HUG Management Head, Mark Cowley — Manager of Scouse icons Space and others. He will be joined by legendary EVOL Promoter Revo Ziganda, SAE Institute Music Business Lecturer Duncan Lewis and Sound City’s Gary Cook. Meanwhile, ex-Kavez star Alex Sloan will be talking about the pitfalls of drink and drugs in the industry and the super talented Daisy Gill will also be speaking.

Guest speakers will be interviewed on stage by the event organiser and La Vida Liverpool magazine owner and radio presenter, Justin Hopper. After a series of probing questions to each guest speaker, the audience will then have the opportunity to ask them questions — as well as being able to network with them throughout the event.

There will be a number of top live performances on the day, featuring bands Headfeeder (formerly Razzmatazz), Ambedo Blue and Modern Marriage and talented solo artists James Holt and Daisy Gill. With plenty of interesting talk and great live music, it’s set to be a fantastic free event for the local independent music scene.

Organiser, La Vida Liverpool’s Justin Hopper, said: “The music industry has had it hard recently — with things such as lockdowns, Brexit and the cost of living crisis all affecting the industry and opportunities. That’s why I think it’s more important than ever to come together and network like this — to collaborate and create opportunities together.”
He continued: “The line up of guest speakers and the musicians on display is real quality and it’s sure to be a fascinating event. In terms of the venue, the lads at Round The Corner are doing great things for the local music scene, giving artists a fair deal, so there’s no better place to host this. I’m really excited and I’m sure it’ll be the first of many events like this.”
