New Brighton’s woodfire pizza kitchen, Hella Dough, is launching a mouthwatering new menu ahead of its 1st birthday! After a hugely successful first year, owner Connor Hilton is looking to take things to the next level with a new menu, extended opening hours and a delivery service through JustEat.
Hella Dough is based at Rockpoint Records on Victoria Road and has developed a reputation for serving up some of the best pizzas in the region. Connor and his team create woodfired masterpieces with fluffy light crusts that have been the talk of the town ever since opening in 2024. Rave reviews have been flooding in, with their Salt & Pepper pizzas being the best sellers despite not being on the menu.
In celebration of their first birthday, Hella Dough is bringing out a mouthwatering new menu that will feature fascinating pizzas such as Hot Honey Chicken and Salt & Pepper Chicken. New sides are being added to the menu such as Salt & Pepper Chips and Wedges, as well as desserts such as Nutella & Oreo Calzone, Deep Fried Oreos and a range of milkshakes, and Hella Dough is very reasonably priced.
Despite having very little previous experience, Connor has become a true woodfired pizza master — with many locals championing Hella Dough as THE best place for pizzas in Wirral. Employing two young local members of staff, he now has big plans to expand and take things to the next level — starting with longer opening hours, JustEat deliveries and of course, he mouthwatering new menu.
Connor explained: “Dan Davies, who has regenerated Victoria Road and transformed the local area, bought a top pizza oven and it was just sat there for ages. He suggested I ran a pizza business from the back of Rockpoint Records as the venue didn’t have a food offering, so I worked hard to learn the art of being a pizza chef and it’s paid off as people love our pizzas and keep coming back.”
He continued: “The feedback has been incredible this past 12 months and it’s time now to take things to the next level. We’ve previously just been open Thurs-Sat but we’re looking at doing more days to keep up with demand and also offer deliveries through JustEat. We’ve been working really hard on creating a very special new menu with some really unique pizzas, sides and desserts — we can’t wait to share it!”
Having enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame, the sky is the limit for Hella Dough and Connor has big plans for the future — including a pizza truck for events and more pop up kitchens throughout the region. For now, locals can indulge in the mouthwatering new menu for the first birthday and given the previous customer feedback, we’re in for a treat.
One recently said: “These pizzas are the best pizzas ever – by far! Would highly recommend. They are out back of a friendly pub — we took the kids out back to order at 8:30 on a Friday evening. The guys here are super friendly and know how to make delicious pizzas. Also has the option of vegan cheese for a little one with allergies. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to New Brighton. Give them a try – you won’t be disappointed!”
Another, Ash White who was visiting from Australia, said: “My wife Mandy and I were visiting from Australia and having travelled all across the globe including Italy, we can confirm Connor’s pizzas are the best we’re tried anywhere! We can’t wait to return, in fact we’d visit New Brighton again just for Hella Dough pizzas!”
