Event organisers, PAW Society, say they’ve chosen to launch the event in the North West due to the numerous animal charities and nonprofits in desperate need of support. RescueFest provides a platform for these groups to gain awareness of their hard work and raise the funds needed to carry out their missions. Unlike any other event, RescueFest features animal rescues across the sector – from hedgehogs to horses and everything in between.

The event is dog friendly and offers fun dog shows from 11:00 – 17:00. Classes include golden oldies, best exempt breed, and of course, best rescue. Some classes will be judged by familiar faces such as Minah Shannon and Skylar the Samoyed.

Minah, from Liverpool, was featured on the hit TV series, The Traitors. Skylar is a social media star and has been featured in Times Magazine, modelled for fashion brand Wolves Not Sheep, and starred in TV advert for Mecca Bingo.

RescueFest offers fun for the whole family with a wide range of attractions. A huge market will cater to the shopaholics with local business selling pet products, tasty treats, art, fashion, and lots more. Capture the day’s memories with photo opportunities alongside animal themed mascots and some real-life animals.

Watch the incredible skill of dog display teams and even let your own pooch have a go. Take a break from the excitement and refuel in the street food area with choices catering to every dietary requirement and cuisine preference, or the shaded bar area with the perfect summer drink. Release your inner child in the funfair, offering rides and carnival games.

Event Coordinator, Hannah, hopes to see a good turnout on the day, and said: “We know the people of Liverpool are passionate about animals and stand up to help those without a voice. We hope as many people as possible will come along and support the worthy causes we’ve invited.”

She continued: “Without support from the general public, these organisations can’t continue to help animals. Rescues see the worst cases of abuse and neglect and we can’t wait to show how much support the city of Liverpool has for these hard working front line groups.”
