She continued: “Some of these ladies are young people just starting out and others are serious professionals wanting to make a go of it in this hugely competitive field. Let’s support them and help them to achieve their dreams whilst also enjoying some amazing performances! These ladies are all unique and all amazing and I am incredibly proud to present them to you!”

A recent report from music industry consultant Linda Coogan Byrne revealed that female British artists were dramatically underrepresented on UK radio stations, whilst a recent GigPig survey found that 80% of female artists have experienced gender bias. The tide seems to be turning though, as female artists had a record year on the UK singles chart, spending the most weeks at No.1 since records began.

Melanie said: “I set up Liverpool, Entertainment, Music and Arts Network (LEMAN) to provide a platform for talented musicians to perform for an audience and be paid for doing so. Tickets are affordably priced to cover costs and to provide an income for these performers. The ethos is to provide interesting and good quality performers who can enjoy performing to an attentive audience who are there to enjoy the music.”

She continued: “You will also be safe in the knowledge that your money will actually be reaching the performers and there’s always an option to contribute more towards them, should you wish to. If you enjoy live music performances and are keen to support our talented local musicians then please do come along to a LEMAN gig and get on board!”
