LA VIDA LIVERPOOL JOINS FORCES WITH WIRRAL WAVE RADIO!

Two local media outlets have joined forces to promote people, businesses, charities and events. Local magazine, La Vida Liverpool, has moved its La Vida Liverpool Live radio show to Birkenhead’s community radio station, Wirral Wave Radio, in what has been dubbed ‘a match made in heaven’.

Founded by Justin Hopper in April 2018, La Vida Liverpool is a positive news concept that consist of an online magazine, social media, print magazine, PR services, a radio show and a podcast. Offering quality marketing and PR at a low cost, La Vida Liverpool has helped hundreds of local independent businesses, as well as big brands.

In addition to creating strategies, ideas and stories that help get people and their events and businesses on the map, La Vida Liverpool has helped many CICs, charities and projects — helping raise in excess of £1 million for various causes. La Vida’s work has resulted in two awards and has seen owner Justin Hopper work internationally on projects in Las Vegas, Turkey, Argentina and many others places globally.

For the past three years, La Vida Liverpool Live radio show has been based at New Brighton Radio — with hundreds of people interviewed including the likes of Billy Butler, Dean Sullivan, Vince Earl, Space and SAS legend Rusty Firmin. In January 2025, the show moved to Wirral Wave Radio — a forward thinking community station that shares the same ethos of positive news.

Founded in 2020, Wirral Wave Radio is ran by Paul Harris, daughter Amanda Harris and David Murrell. The online station has no less than 23 presenters, with a range of music and talk shows spanning a plethora of subjects. The station is a Community Interest Company and has helped countless people, businesses, charities and events, as well as educated and trained young people wanting to get into broadcasting.

The collaboration sees two wonderful local media outlets join forces to make society a better place through positive news. La Vida Liverpool Live radio show is scheduled every Thursday from 5pm until 7pm and features Justin interviewing two special guests, who in turn choose some of their favourite songs to play. The show is repeated every Monday at 6pm and are also uploaded to La Vida Liverpool’s Mixcloud channel.

La Vida Liverpool’s Justin Hopper said: “When I met with Paul and the guys at Wirral Wave it was a breath of fresh air. In a world of toxic media it was refreshing to hear that they share the same ethos and commitment to positive news as me. Like La Vida, they have supported so many people, businesses, charities and events in the region, as well as young people — it’s great to be working alongside them.”

He continued: “The set up at Wirral Wave is fantastic and they offer great support to presenters. I was really impressed. There’s so much emphasis on video content and social media these days — mindless scrolling of disposable, trashy content — so I feel it’s important to keep the magic of radio alive. Much like our La Vida print magazine, it’s a classic, tangible platform that encourages people to listen, think and feel.”

Another new show on Wirral Wave Radio is Laugh More Live Well — a refreshing, light-hearted take on mental health and wellbeing from comedian, podcaster and motivational speaker Mary Cross. The new shows cement Wirral Wave’s status as the region’s largest online community radio station and one that continues to do vital work in Wirral and beyond.
