Community
Community is at the heart of what Bring The Fire Project does and many people have benefitted from the mental health aspect. Szymon and Jess have created a non profit initiative called The Flow Project — offering safe spaces for people to meet, practice and socialise. The Flow Project runs on Mondays (6.30-8.30pm) at The Black-E, is free to attend and anyone is welcome! In the summer they also run Liverpool Fire Sessions — large community events in Sefton Park.
Jess explained: “Fire dancing has been a massive tool for me to combat my own mental health issues — from getting in the state of flow and being engaged in an activity to socialising and being part of a community. When I met Szymon and became part of the project, we decided to offer a free space for people to meet and it’s been amazing. People love it!”
