The latest album, Keep The Faith, is a response to the increase in mental health issues and the rise in suicides in times when many people are facing pressure and adversity.

The Oldham-born rapper has shot to fame in recent years as an advocate for mental health and relaying positive messages through his music. His 2020 album, I Can’t Sleep, was a response to the difficulties people faced during Covid and received critical acclaim globally and coverage from the BBC, The Oldham Chronical, The Liverpool Echo and internationally.

The 4th studio album, Keep The Faith, is entitled so to encourage people to stay strong during the difficult times and also as a nod to his boyhood football club, Oldham Athletic. UK Craigie has decided to give away downloads of the album for free in order to support and inspire people throughout the difficult times and almost 100,000 copies have been downloaded globally within four days of its release.

UK Craigie explained: “Things have really sky-rocketed for me, particularly since the I Can’t Sleep album release. The album was created to show people that they are not alone in their struggles during the pandemic and it was received really well — with hundreds of thousands of streams globally and success as far and wide as Australia, the U.S and Africa.”
He continued: “The struggle continues for many people, who are still feeling the effects of Covid and are under even more pressure with the cost of living crisis, Brexit and other societal pressures. My new album aims to support people through this and I’ve made a conscious decision to offer a number of copies for free as I appreciate finances are tight for a lot of people right now.”

The new album features hit singles such as Someday — a song that tells the story of somebody who is down on their luck, struggling to keep a roof over their head and drowning in debt but refuses to give in and focusing on the fact that someday they will be in a better situation if they have faith. Another track, Senzu, is about becoming your own superhero whilst facing challenges.

Other tracks include Just Breathe — a hard-hitting song over acoustic guitar that expresses perfectly how a battle with your mental health feels, how things can shift so quickly and bravado can turn into vulnerability. Meanwhile, By The Lake is about taking time out for yourself somewhere relaxing in order to take a break from the pressures of life.

In addition to offering copies of this latest album for free, UK Craigie is also in the process of creating a podcast entitled Music For Mental Health Radio where he will invite other rappers to open up about their struggles and journeys. He is also working on a Rap For Mental Health project where he will be teaching song writing and expressing yourself through music to young people.
