MISS LIVERPOOL AIMING TO INSPIRE WOMEN TO STEP INTO THEIR POWER!
After recently being crowned Miss Liverpool, Felicia Kehli is on a mission to inspire women to ‘step into their power’ and overcome suppression and adversity. The 26-year-old artist, dancer, singer and model has overcome her own battles to get to where she is today and will now compete for the title of Miss Great Britain later this month.

Born and raised in Algeria before moving to Liverpool, Felicia’s culture in her home country did not always encourage women’s creativity and progression in the arts and fashion industries. She had always dreamt of becoming a model but faced negativity and lack of support, whilst she worried her small stature would also scupper her dream.

Despite things working against her, she has gone on to achieve a great deal in her young life. Fluent in Arabic, French, English, Derija, Tamazight, Spanish and Maltese, she went on to achieve a Masters in International Journalism, a Masters in Public Relations and a Batchelors in Communication & Information.

Gaining her confidence, she went on to become an artist, dancer, singer and model — starring in and organising charity fashion shows both in the UK and abroad to raise money for causes such as Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and women’s rights charities. In 2017 she became Miss Elegant Algeria and made it to the Top 3 of Miss Elegant International in France, before this year being crowned Miss Liverpool.

Felicia explained: “In many cultures, women are not encouraged to be creative and although Algeria is much more liberal, I did witness lack of support. Suppression of women’s rights still goes on all over the world today — from forced marriages to abuse. When I was growing up the idea of me becoming a model was frowned upon by many but I was defiant.“
She continued: “After moving to the UK, I also found that many refugees escaped suppression and traumatic events. This got me wanting to encourage empowerment and encourage women to be more confident, practise self love and become the masters of their own destiny.”

On Friday 18th October 2024 she compete against 70 women from around the country for the prestigious title of Miss Great Britain — the famous pageant that will soon celebrate its 80th year. Whilst the crown would be very beneficial for her career, Felicia is hoping that by winning the competition she can inspire women to go out and fulfil their dreams and goals despite any adversities holding them back.

Felicia continued: “After my own success, I have become passionate about inspiring other women to follow their dreams too. I have used modelling and fashion shows to raise money for important causes and now that I have become Miss Liverpool, I aim to use that title to inspire more people, especially women. I have applied to become a Delegate for United Nations For Women UK and aim to work with women’s human rights charities.”
“To become Miss Great Britain would be huge as it would enable me to be heard and seen to inspire and help others overcome obstacles and trauma and take their life back. To show them that rather than be the victim they can use the law of attraction and manifestation and become masters of their own life like I did. I will always continue my mission supporting women going through abuse and trauma, those who are suppressed and don’t have a voice.”

Felicia summarised: “I want to show the world that pageantry is not about showing of your skin or looks, it’s about female empowerment and feeling good — becoming more confident in who we are and inspiring other women. Having a pageant title is a huge responsibility that can be used to inspire other women to chase their dreams.”
