MY WORK EXPERIENCE WITH LA VIDA LIVERPOOL

From the 8th-12th July, I had an amazing opportunity to spend my work experience at La Vida Liverpool alongside the owner, Justin Hopper, and what a fantastic week it was to be able to earn a vast amount of knowledge and experience over this short period of time.

La Vida Liverpool has become a strong force, with Justin creating both a physical and online magazine, a radio show and a marketing/PR business that has been going for just over 6 years now — helping show and celebrate a massive variation of businesses and people.

This business stands out massively from other media platforms, with its coverage on all types of positive media, ranging from delicious food all the way to showcases of events, charities, businesses and the interesting stories people have to share.

During my week at La Vida Liverpool, I gained a huge amount of experience and knowledge that I will be able to put to good use for any jobs or further education that interest me. This included a wide range of things such as: learning how to structure an article and write my own, calling potential clients to organise meetings, sitting in meetings with clients to see first-hand how they work and what is discussed and I also got to learn from an extremely talented videographer, Phil Perez.

Everything I did that week has taught me valuable lessons in both work and life experience that I will continue to put to use and refer to for years to come. I learnt a vast variation of things within this industry such as the importance of creating engaging media content, managing client relationships and the positive results hard work and determination can achieve.

One of the most significant lessons I learnt during my time at La Vida Liverpool was the utmost importance that pieces of positive media in an ocean of negative news, will impact society greatly by uplifting peoples spirits, hope and promoting a sense of unity and optimism.

Overall, I had a wonderful week of gaining knowledge and skills at La Vida Liverpool with great amounts of help and encouragement from the talented writer and owner, Justin Hopper.
