Ever since opening on Allport Lane, Bromborough, in November 2021, Pina Loca has received countless 5 star reviews. We checked it out one Wednesday evening to discover what all the fuss is about….

What’s Pina Loca about?
Pina Loca is not your typical Mexican with the standard quesadillas, burritos and tacos. Instead, at Pina Loca you’ll find colourful, flavoursome and creative dishes in a sumptuously decorated restaurant — all Mexican themed and with their own unique twist. With a super cool soundtrack, its relaxed open plan style get you feeling good as soon as you walk in.
Pina Loca is the brainchild of Babul Miah — a man with years of experience working for top restaurant brands such as Karma and Mowgli. His new concept, subject to an incredible refit (it used to be a newsagents) is going down a storm and is open 7 days a week. Oh — and an intimate new cocktail bar is coming soon upstairs!

What’s on the menu?
Pina Loca has a refined menu featuring mouth watering Mexican dishes — from small plates and tacos to bowls and burritos — all with their own intriguing twist. It’s a beautiful cross between relaxed, fun dining and high end, top quality cuisine in a stylish yet not snobby environment. If you’re after a bargain they do 3 small plates for £12 12pm-4pm every day and if you’re after a bevvy their tequila and cocktails range is banging!

Our visit….
We visited on a Wednesday evening to sample a bit of everything they offer. We started with their signature nachos, unique in their own way, before moving on to small plates and tacos. We opted for 5 small plates of pina wings, blackened jalapenos, avocado salad, pea tostada and elote and 2 baja fish and calabaza tacos. A spiced Strawberry Margarita was the perfect way to finish.
We love to try places out before recommending them, even if they already have many 5 star Facebook and Trip Advisor reviews, and we can honestly say Pina Loca did not disappoint one bit. We arrived at 5pm, loving the boss soundtrack, great environment and top notch food, and the place was full by 7pm on a Wednesday night — it’s hardly a surprise to be fair.

Here at La Vida Liverpool we love telling you about new places and amazing places — in Pina Loca we’ve found somewhere new and most definitely amazing! From the soundtrack to the decor and environment and from the food to the cocktails, they’ve created something very special in Bromborough that’s worth travelling to. The service from Babul and the team is incredible too. Very highly recommended!
