Vula Viel are a ground breaking UK jazz act who play music based on the sound of the gyil, a wooden xylophone from West Africa, fused with elements of electronica and minimal music. Following an outstanding performance at WOMAD (as captured by BBC Radio 3) and a highly regarded release of a new album, they come to Liverpool in fine form.

This supremely talented and internationally acclaimed trio is fronted by Bex Burch, who spent three years with the Dagaaba people of Ghana in order to master the art of the gyil instrument. With that unique sound as the spine of the group, they have been creating fascinating masterpieces together that fuse music genres with jaw dropping awe.
