As Above So Below is the creation of Cat De Leon — a pagan, tarot reader, music producer, acclaimed journalist and writer and international artist. Originally from Lynn, Massachusetts, and having worked in Salem (home of the infamous Witch trials), Cat came to Liverpool in 2017 and through her shop she aims to bring something different to the city.

Cat said: “Ever since I was a little girl in the U.S I had a natural flair for reading cards and had psychic abilities. I also had an obsession for David Bowie, all things esoteric, anything artsy and subculture scenes. I always knew I’d settle in the U.K and I’ve found my spiritual home in Liverpool.”
She continued: “I opened As Above So Below to fill a gap for those interested in all things witchy, pagan, esoteric and subculture or anyone simply curious. We offer tools for those who practice, knowledge for those who are curious, workshops, readings, gifts and more. I’m also hoping to help educate people — witches, pagans and polytheists are often misunderstood.”

Cat is not a stereotypical ‘witch’ — something that is misinterpreted as a woman with a black cloak, black cat, a broomstick and sinister intentions. Cat is an experienced practitioner who works with energies and supernatural powers — casting spells for the greater good and having developed a wealth of knowledge and ability over the years.

Cat explained: “There are many people out there who don’t understand what I do. Fear of paganism is perpetuated by those who feel threatened by the old religions and polytheism. This is mostly due to poor education and silly Hollywood stereotypes. Meanwhile, witchcraft and spelling are not necessarily bad things as the media portrays — in fact they are present in everything, especially music and the arts.”
She continued: “I am firmly committed to creating an eclectic space, not dedicated to any one path or persuasion, and where the witch’s rede holds firm: ‘And ye HARM NO ONE, do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law’. We will not engage in any harmful or manipulative practice, nor aid and abet in same.”
