Three of the world’s best flamenco stars are coming to Liverpool for a stunning showcase at The Capstone Theatre. From 7.30pm on Saturday 10th May, ‘3 De Corazones’ brings you Andres Peña, Jesús Guerrero and David Carpio for a night of truly breathtaking flamenco!
The enigmatic flamenco dancer, musician and choreographer, Andres Peña, is returning to Liverpool once again after previous sell-out shows — blowing the audience away with his strength, beauty, energy and elegance. A master of improvisation, instinctive rhythm and connection with his musicians, Andrés Peña is revered as one of the most talented flamenco artists of his generation.
Andres is joined by Jesús Guerrero — guitarist of Miguel Poveda, who is arguably the most famous and popular flamenco singer in the world. Having just released an album with Poveda, Jesús Guerrero is an exceptional guitarist and has won many award including including the Fatiguillo Prize. He has also performed with the likes of Niña Pastori, Eva la Yerbabuena and Carmen Linares.
Finally, completing the ‘3 Of Hearts’ showcase is acclaimed singer David Carpio. With a full range from harsh to tender, forged in ‘La Plazuela’ area of Jerez and transmitted orally from generation to generation, he is an artist with a distinct echo of an ancestral voice. He has also won prizes — singing for world-class dancers including Manuel Liñán, Isabel Bayón, Mercedes Ruiz and the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía.
Andres Peña said: “This show is committed to transmitting flamenco in its most authentic and natural state. A direct flamenco without additives or preservatives, a flamenco where every movement, every groan, every chord is full of truth. A truth that is born from the artist’s feelings and that flutters across the stage until it touches the audience’s heart.”
He continued: “Three hearts, three ways of feeling flamenco that come together to share and enjoy each other’s flamenco, and at the same time to connect the audience with this enjoyment! With no other intention than to experience an unforgettable flamenco night, we present to you; 3 De Corazones!”
