YOUNG RAP SENSATION EAGLESTONE WINS PRIMAL LIVE SONG CONTEST!

A new Merseyside rap star is in the making as Harris Eaglestone, a 19-year-old artist from Southport, took home Best Original Song at the high-profile Primal Live song contest, held at Camp & Furnace. The young star is now looking to take his music to the next level.

The event, which saw over 30 artists and bands battle it out for top honours, wasn’t just a showcase of musical talent — it also raised vital funds for The Whitechapel Centre, a leading Liverpool charity supporting people experiencing homelessness.

Eaglestone captivated both audience and judges with his debut track “Reminisce”, a raw, emotionally charged song dealing with addiction, trauma and family struggles. Delivered with poetic precision and gritty vulnerability, the track stood out as a powerful testament to his lyrical ability and songwriting maturity well beyond his years.
“This song isn’t just a performance — it’s a piece of my life,” said Eaglestone after his win. “Music has always been how I’ve coped — an escapism and a form of expression. To have people connect with that and to be told my lyrics resonate with them means everything.”
Eaglestone’s path to the stage hasn’t been straightforward. Growing up in Southport, he began writing songs alone in his room purely as an outlet and a way to express his feelings. When he applied to Liverpool Music Academy, he didn’t have enough UCAS points, but the college saw something in him and offered him a place — an exception that now seems prophetic.

It was there that he met fellow students Tyron and Sydney, who quickly recognised his gift and pushed him to apply for Primal Live. With their encouragement, Eaglestone stepped into the spotlight, performing not only Reminisce but also the equally impressive “How D’Ya Know Me”, showcasing lyrical depth and authenticity that stunned the audience and judges alike.
Described by some as a “mental health rapper”, Eaglestone is carving out his own space in the UK music scene with unflinching honesty and poetic grit. Comparisons have already been made to artists like REN and even Eminem, with judges noting the “raw power” of his storytelling and the emotional weight he brings to every bar.

Eaglestone’s win is not just a personal triumph — it’s a symbol of what happens when talent meets opportunity, and when music becomes more than entertainment: a lifeline, a mirror, and a voice for those struggling in silence. With Reminisce now released as his official debut single and momentum building from his Primal Live win, the future is looking bright for Harris Eaglestone. Expect big things!
