John’s son Nathan set up a fundraising campaign to help him through his darkest hours and help cover his bills, after years of being unable to work. “Performing in pubs were the best years of my life,” said John before he sadly passed away. “I’ve been on telly, been on the radio, done a few variety shows and I’ve done at least 300 charity fundraisers.”
Nathan Fairbrother said: “My dad was a fighter, the life of the party, a kind soul. Whilst he struggled with health for years, our world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and given 3-6 months to live. We wanted to make sure his remaining time was defined by peace, not stress. Now that he has sadly passed away, we are using the funds to cover funeral costs.”
