The highly entertaining production focuses on the daily lives of Constance (Jasmine Oates), Jazz (Hannah Kidman), Alice (Nicola Wai Shee Chan) and Erika (Rafaela) as they navigate through sexism they face whilst working at Sunny Side Cafe. Through conversations, comedy, spoken word and song, their individual and collective stories are portrayed in a fascinating way.

Constance has been waitressing for 8 years — which is 8 years longer than she had intended to be there. New to the cafe is Alice, a veteran of the fitness industry who is seeking to leave behind the toxicity she found in her old work, but finds that it may not be so easy to escape.
Alice’s arrival has sparked something new in Erika (Rafaela), an aspiring musician who has her world thrown into question by strong emergent feelings which may only be expressed through song. Meanwhile the ever-sarcastic Jazz, a proud progressive activist, navigates the challenges of being vocally feminist while working in an environment where customers tip you based on your ‘pretty smile’.

Founder Sab Muthusamy said: “To sell out our debut shows over multiple nights is an amazing achievement, one I’m thoroughly proud of, and the feedback has been unreal. We have two shows coming up and this one will be really thought provoking and entertaining — making people think and feel, which is what the arts is all about.”
He continued: “Diversity and inclusivity is at the core of our ethos — providing equal opportunities and providing a stage to people from all different backgrounds. This is our first all female cast show, featuring four extremely talented actresses, devised by Rafaela, Nichola Chan, Jasmine Oates and Hannah Kidman and directed by Luke Bennet. It’s set to be a wonderful three nights of theatre.”
