ANGEL FIELD FESTIVAL RETURNS WITH MUSIC, ART & EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN!
Looking for something cool to do in the city? Liverpool Hope University’s Angel Field Festival returns on 24th March with an exciting and diverse programme of events — many of which are free to attend! Featuring music, art, film, performance, dance, magic, workshops, talks and more, there’s something for everyone!
The week-long showcase at Liverpool Hope University’s creative campus on Shaw Street is set to host some incredible events. Audiences can enjoy art and photography exhibitions, a musical, a live magic show, a Beatles conference, plays, a Who live music showcase, an electronic music event and more! Exhibitions throughout the week
Throughout the week, the Cornerstone Gallery will host some incredible free art and photography exhibitions! Carried On The Wind showcases work from the multi-award winning Steph Goodger, meanwhile Piece Of Mind showcases art from Liverpool Hope University students, residents of local care homes living with dementia and prisoners.

The Seven Lamps Of Cumbria showcases the life and work of John Ruskin and Tongues Of The Trees is a visual and audio work created by Lizzie King and Dr. Rebekah Okpoti, meanwhile The Umbrella Project is a colourful umbrella display in the foyer of The Capstone Theatre.

Fri 24th March
ADHD The Musical In Concert brings you a special concert including original tunes Thinking About Bees and I Could get Hit By a Bus. Join Dora Colquhoun and West End Superstar and Liverpool Legend Gillian Hardie (Mamma Mia, Kinky Boots) in sharing the highs and lows of being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. A powerful and thought-provoking musical concert at The Capstone Theatre!

International Beatles Symposium brings you a weekend of scholarly celebrations of the Beatles! The weekend will feature two full days of presentations of the latest research on the Beatles from panels of international scholars, who will explore the musical, cultural, historical, political, and social contexts of the Beatles’ and solo Beatles’ works — with film too! Keynote Speaker, Professor Kenneth Womack, is one of the world’s leading authorities on The Beatles and their enduring cultural influence.

Steve Price Illusions brings you internationally renowned magician Steve Price! The award winning illusionist has over fifteen years of performing experience and has worked at thousands of events in a host of venues, including on cruise ships internationally. A member of the Inner Magic Circle, he’s one of the most respected, and entertaining, magicians in the industry.

Curtains Curtains Curtains Curtains Curtains is an immersive and interactive theatre performance whereby you select an object from your home that you would like to connect a little deeper with and bring it with you. Something very different indeed!

Mon 27th March
Creative Futures Seminar offers aspiring creatives an opportunity to learn more about the world of theatre. Have you ever wondered how to get work in professional theatre as part of a production team? Come along to hear the secrets of the trade from four professionals currently employed by the Everyman/Playhouse production team.

Stages Of Youth is a celebration of the young talent from Liverpool Hope University Drama Society and Young Everyman Playhouse Programme. This double bill will demonstrate acting talent and creativity from both academies, with some gripping performances!

The Carried On The Wind Talk with artist Steph Goodger will focus on her latest series of paintings based on research conducted into the First World War and the infamous 1916 Battle of the Somme. It relates to the exhibition on display in the Cornerstone Gallery throughout the period of the Angel Field Festival.

Weds 29th March
Our Dance Democracy 3 addresses dance, performance and heritage practices which positively disrupts Western canons, and promotes the artist voice, agency and endeavour which enhances critical art practices. A two day dance conference taking place at The Creative Campus and Edge Hill University.

Resonating Stages Symposium (Day 1) brings together the work and research of the School’s postgraduate students attending the MA Contemporary Performance and the MA Creative Music Practice programmes. A free conference about music and performance.

The Rest Of Our Lives is a joyful dose of dance, theatre, circus and games. A cabaret of life and near death. Two middle-aged lives in an eclectic, spontaneous, predictable and random decline. International artists with 100 years of life experience between them, armed with a soundtrack of floor-fillers, a book of raffle tickets and a sprinkling of eco-friendly optimism.

Release is an interactive digital art installation and dance performance that explores stories of female migration and the human capacity to offer a place of refuge in times of crisis. As a lone woman appears on a surreal pedestrian refuge island we begin to hear just why she braved the elements to leave her home and settle here in a new place of refuge.

Elif Yalvac & d’Voxx is a double bill electronic music concert by Turkish musical prodigy Elif Yalvaç and by DiN records modular synthesis duo d’Voxx. Multi award-winning electronic music from artists who have an eye-watering portfolio between them — an absolute must for any fans of electronic music and all things modular synthesiser.

Sat 1st April
In 2023 for the 50th anniversary of Quadrophenia, Who’s Next – The Premier Live Tribute To The Who (themselves celebrating their own 20th anniversary as a band) will be taking the record on tour like it should have been back in 1973, playing the majority of it and where possible using background visuals that will bring the story of Jimmy Cooper to life.

Liverpool Hope University’s Angel Field Festival returns for its fourth year with another jam packed programme of incredible events — from music and performance to exhibitions and talks. Many of the events are free to attend and with something for everyone, the festival is a must if you’re looking for something cool to do in the city!
