Liverpool dance group, Dance Unlimited, have helped raise £115,000 for Liverpool Women’s Hospital’s Honeysuckle appeal following the latest Strictly For Liverpool Women’s Hospital dancing event at The Titanic Hotel. The group was an integral part of this year’s event that raised over £80,000 for the hospital.

Strictly For Liverpool Women’s Hospital is an annual event that raises vital funds for Liverpool Women’s Hospital, helping fund bereavement rooms and vital equipment for the maternity department. Having just celebrated its 3rd event, the concept pairs professional dancers with hospital staff and others in a Strictly style competition that raises money for charity in the process.

At the heart of these events is the Dance Unlimited Show Steppers, a group of dancers from Liverpool led by Hazel Langdon — organiser of the Strictly events. A group of amateur dancers whose ages range from 36 to 76, they perform free of charge at charity and community events and have been an integral part of the Strictly events — helping raise over £115,000 in total.

At the latest event at the Titanic Hotel on 23rd November in front of 500 guests, the group performed to two tracks from the smash hit Musical, Chicago, with a standing ovation for ‘All that Jazz’ and ‘Hot Honey Rag’. The group blew the audience away once again and completed yet another free charity event for a great cause.

Hazel Langdon, Dance Captain and Owner/Director of Dance Unlimited Liverpool, said: “I am incredibly proud of my amazing dance troupe whose average age is 58 years old. Turning up every week for rehearsals, purchasing costumes and accessories and raising huge amounts for charity.”
She continued: “It just goes to show that you are never too old to dance, learn a new skill, perform at packed out venues whilst keeping fit and becoming a member of a disciplined team. They tell me I’ve made their dreams come true, but believe me….they are the dream makers!”

Dance Unlimited Liverpool is based at Woodlands Social Club and Allerton United Reformed Church and offers adult dance lessons in Ballroom, Latin, Latino, Sequence and more. Dance Unlimited’s Show Steppers are available for bookings at charity and community events with limited dates for 2025.
