Liverpool musician/actor and founder of The Shakers, Tony O’Keeffe, who wrote and produced the show, said: “We’ve had a successful run of shows around the UK since the debut show in 2018 and the feedback is always incredible. It’s a really special show that truly transports you back to the iconic Merseybeat era and we’ve enjoyed many packed houses including a sell-out show at The Gladstone Theatre back in 2023.”

He continued: “The Gladstone Theatre is the perfect venue for this show — steeped in history and set in the picturesque Port Sunlight village. You will hear the big Mersey Sound hits, classic Cavern stompers and a shot of rhythm & blues (with a little rock ’n’ roll on the side for good measure) from The Beatles, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Searchers, Cilla Black, Billy J Kramer & The Dakotas, The Big Three and many more.”

Having shared a stage with Liverpool 60s legends, The Searchers and the late Gerry Marsden, they have also backed many 60s artists such as US rock & roll stars, Tommy Roe, Chris Montez and Elvis’ guitarist, James Burton.

They have backed Merseybeat alumni such as The Searchers’ Mike Pender, The Merseybeats’ Billy Kinsley, The Hollies’ Terry Sylvester, Swingin’ Blue Jeans’ Ray Ennis, The Mojos’ Nick Crouch, the late Kingsize Taylor and Undertakers’ Geoff Nugent, The Big Three’s Brian Griffiths, Karl Terry, Beryl Marsden and Lee Curtis. With top draw entertainment and striking narrative, it’s a must see show for local music lovers!
