One of the many talented individuals featuring on the night, Jess Hanko, talks about her career and inspiration. She says: “I began studying Graphic Design at The University Of Salford. I’ve always had a passion for drawing and been very creative all my life. I began studying Fine Art at The University Of Salford which brought new levels of experimentation to my work and my way of thinking.

She continued: “I then began to study Graphic Design and adapted my skills to a digital approach. In my final project, I looked in depth at the character behind the architecture of buildings around Liverpool and began to manipulate them in order to enhance this.”

The primary goal of this event is to raise funds for two local charities, Woodlands Hospice and Bradbury Fields. Both organisations are vital to the Liverpool community, relying on local funding to enhance the quality of life for their service users.

Both of these local charities are amazing with the work they do for caring for those who need it. Bradbury Fields help enable blind, partially sighted and people with dual sensory impairments to achieve their potential, giving them the ability to contribute to the social and economic fabric of their local communities.

Woodlands Hospice has been caring for local people since 1996. They are a registered charity dedicated to providing hospice care for the people of North Liverpool, South Sefton and Kirkby in Knowsley.

These charities hold a special place in the hearts of Tim and his wife, Sarah. Sarah’s mother spent her final six weeks at Woodlands Hospice following a devastating diagnosis of ovarian cancer earlier this year. Additionally, Tim has been closely connected to Bradbury Fields Centre for visually impaired adults, where he has volunteered by leading weekly choir sessions, since 2014.

Tim Taylor, Director of Liverpool Indie Choir says: “Liverpool Indie Choir is a choir like no other. ‘We sing songs no one else does’, that’s our tagline to reflect our commitment to making the choir accessible to everyone, with a diverse membership spanning all backgrounds and age groups. Join us and be part of an
unforgettable night of music and community spirit!”

He continues saying: “This will be the biggest singing event the city has ever seen. We’re incredibly excited to give back to two amazing charities while enjoying some fantastic tunes together as a way to bring the city together and unite with the power of group singing. Liverpool is a passionate city with a rich musical history, so what better way to fundraise!”
