Bubble tea is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s but recently the fruit version has exploded in popularity in the West — notably the U.S. The cold drink consists of jasmine green tea and fruit syrups that are blended through a shaker machine — with fruit popping balls and ice added to the concoction.

Co-Owner Kerry Evrem said: “My uncle Marc originally wanted to turn the old taxi office into a kebab shop but I convinced him to open a bubble tea and dessert shop instead. He didn’t know what bubble tea was but now he’s pleased I convinced him as they have been selling like crazy!”

Kerry continued: “Strawberry has been the most popular flavour so far and one girl comes in every day — we’ve even had a lady in her 70s who now gets it all the time! They’re very refreshing drinks and the popping balls have a very unique and juicy feel to them. People are crazy for them in winter so I can only imagine what it will be like in summer!”
