Liverpool’s Capstone Theatre is set to become a hub for adventurous sound this autumn with a trilogy of live electronic music performances featuring three of the UK’s most acclaimed and innovative artists.
Across October and November, audiences will be treated to performances from Pye Corner Audio, an Electronic Music Double Bill featuring Jo Johnson and Polypores, and pioneering electronic musician Scanner, offering a rare opportunity to experience some of the most exciting names in contemporary electronic music in an intimate setting.

Journey into the eerie world of Pye Corner Audio
The series begins on Saturday 10th October with Pye Corner Audio, the acclaimed project of British producer Martin Jenkins.
Known for his haunting blend of vintage synthesisers, post-punk influences and retro-futurist electronics, Jenkins has built an international following through his distinctive sound that evokes forgotten television broadcasts, library music and the pioneering work of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. His atmospheric live performances combine nostalgic visuals with analogue-inspired soundscapes, creating an immersive experience that feels both unsettling and strangely familiar.

Two visionary artists share the stage
On Saturday 14th November, the theatre hosts an Electronic Music Double Bill showcasing two artists at the forefront of experimental electronic composition.
Jo Johnson brings more than three decades of musical exploration, having evolved from punk and techno into deeply expressive electronic minimalism. Her recent work blends improvisation, generative electronics and composed sound, earning performances at prestigious venues including London’s Purcell Room and Café OTO, alongside appearances at festivals across Europe and the United States.
Sharing the bill is Polypores, whose mesmerising live performances are built around modular synthesis, hypnotic rhythms and psychedelic textures. No two performances are ever the same, with each set unfolding as a unique sonic journey through constantly evolving electronic landscapes.

Electronic pioneer Scanner closes the series
The trilogy concludes on Friday 27th November with an appearance from legendary British electronic artist Robin Rimbaud, better known as Scanner.
Internationally recognised for transforming intercepted transmissions, field recordings and everyday sounds into immersive musical experiences, Scanner’s work sits at the intersection of music, technology and storytelling. Each performance is created in the moment, responding to the venue and audience to produce a completely unique concert experience.
Supporting Scanner will be The Metamorph (Gavin Brick), whose ambient synthesiser performances draw inspiration from classic science fiction soundtracks and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Brick has previously performed at venues including FACT Liverpool and Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art, and has collaborated with artists including Pete Wylie and The Mighty Wah.

A celebration of electronic creativity
With all three concerts beginning at 7.30pm and tickets priced at £16.50, the series offers Liverpool audiences the chance to experience a diverse spectrum of electronic music — from analogue nostalgia and cinematic atmospheres to improvised modular synthesis and boundary-pushing sound art.
Hosted at Liverpool Hope University’s Capstone Theatre, the trilogy reinforces the venue’s reputation for presenting adventurous and thought-provoking performances that introduce audiences to some of the most innovative artists working in contemporary music today.
