Throughout Jeanie’s 40 year career, she has met some friends for life — with her dresses being the focal point of thousands of weddings and creating magical memories for people that they will cherish forever. In 2017 Jeanie actually decided to retire, but her love of what she does soon brought her back out of retirement.

Jeanie explained: “My passion started at the age of 6 when my mum bought me my first sewing machine after seeing my love of fashion. By the age of 10 I had designed my mother a whole new wardrobe of clothes. I went to Laird College and started my own business when I was 18. I opened my first shop on Seabank Road and word of mouth soon took effect after I sold my first wedding dress.”
She continued: “Within 6 months I had to move to a bigger premises on Wallasey Road. I’ve since had shops in Hoylake and West Kirby and Opulence was the biggest in the area spread over two floors. I decided to retire in 2017 and enjoyed having more time after working so hard for so many years, but soon missed the lovely customers and being part of people’s special day. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”
