AFRICA OYE FESTIVAL BACK FOR 2019!

The largest celebration of African music in the UK, Africa Oye, returns to the idyllic Sefton Park for its 27th year this year! On 22nd and 23rd June 2019, the award winning festival brings yet another colourful carnival to the Liverpool suburbs and once again it promises to be an extravaganza for all the family!

With an exciting line up featuring local and international acts, an abundance of interesting food and drink, market stalls, face painting, workshops and much more, there’s something for everyone over the two days at Africa Oye! Expect festival fun and feel good vibes at this culturally rich showcase like no other!

This year will feature the likes of Horace Andy, BCUC, Wesli, Oshun, Gasper Nali and Liverpool based rising star Satin Beige on the Saturday. On the Sunday you can enjoy music from the likes of Garifuna Collective, Sofiane Saidi and Mazalda, Jah 9 and the Dub Treatment, Moonlight Benjamin, Carlou D and local young talent Tabitha Jade.

In addition to the above there will be exciting international DJs such as DJ Edu and Emily Dust, the interesting creative group Staged Chaos and energetic band Batala. With samba, dance, yoga, workshops and all sorts of things thrown into the mix, it’s set to be another spectacle that can’t be missed!
