During the past year or so, we’ve been keeping you up to date with how New Brighton has come alive with street art! Rockpoint Leisure’s Victoria Quarter regeneration project has been commissioning some amazing work and the latest Gorillaz piece comes courtesy of local street artist, Adam Bresnen, or ‘Brez’ as his tag says.

This masterpiece is situated in the rear courtyard of Rockpoint Records — the new record store, barbers, tattoo parlour and café in the middle of Victoria Road. It’s based on the legendary album, Demon Days, by Damon Albarn’s alternative band, Gorillaz. With other incredible works of art at the venue, including ultraviolet murals in the basement (also by Adam Bresnen), it’s becoming one of the most colourful venues around.

The local artist behind the cool Gorillaz mural has also created many others for the project. Adam Bresnen is the man behind the ones on The Harbour pub and the Peggy Gadsby piece at the side of The New Brighton Hotel. A versatile experimental artist, Adam is one of the region’s finest talents and is also a member of successful band, Veyu.

The project, led by local businessman Daniel Davies and his Rockpoint Leisure team, has completely transformed the area and there are other exciting plans in the pipeline.
