What’s the grant about?
Alan told us: “The ECO 3 grant for a free high efficiency replacement boiler is part of the Affordable Warmth scheme that was put into place to fight fuel poverty. Around 2 million homes in the UK are classed as having fuel poverty and Merseyside has been recognised as one of the areas to be assisted. However, this free boiler grant is available for many people.”

Do I qualify?
Alan explained: “Basically, most home owners on low income or some sort of benefit (including child benefits) qualify for a free replacement boiler if their boiler is over 7 years old. That said, the local authority has options we can tap into too, so we can help those with broken boilers in certain circumstances.”

What if I don’t qualify but want a new boiler?
Alan advised: “If your boiler is over 7 years old or broken or you worry it may not be very efficient then there are great options out there if you don’t qualify for the free boiler scheme. We have agreements in place with certain suppliers where we can offer a new energy efficient boiler on an interest free buy now pay later deal.”

Alan told us: “With energy prices rising all the time, it’s important to be on a good energy deal but it’s also very important to be energy efficient.
