We recently introduced readers to a very special new place in Heswall called AJ’s. The 1920s art deco tea room and gin bar has become very popular — particularly for afternoon tea! They now have over 100 types of gin and to celebrate surpassing the 100 gins mark, they’re hosting a fantastic live music and gin tasting event on Saturday 12th October!

What’s AJ’s about?
If you’ve seen our recent feature or visited, you’ll know all about this wonderful time capsule situated next to Andrew Collinge on Telegraph Road. Oozing with vintage nostalgia, AJ’s offers a Gatsby style tea room and gin bar with a black and gold design, vintage artwork and period music.
The tea room is open 11am until 4pm Tues — Sat and the gin bar is open 5pm until 11pm Thurs — Sat. It’s already become a hit with those in the know and they offer a fantastic range of loose leaf tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sandwiches, homemade scones and cakes, breakfast and lunches, afternoon tea and of course gin. They’ve just received their 5 star food hygiene rating too!

What’s the event about?AJ’s have started to host live music and quiz nights. There’s a fantastic live music and gin night on Saturday 12th October from 7pm that offers guests a chance to try 5 gins of their choice with fruit and any mixer, lots of tasty nibbles and great live music for £30 per person. For gin, live music and Gatsby enthusiasts this is not to be missed!

If you’re looking for somewhere to host your special occasion then AJ’s is a wonderful option! Whether it’s a baby shower, a special surprise birthday, a wedding function or something else, AJ’s is available for free private hire as a tea room or as a gin bar. They can offer bespoke packages covering catering and live entertainment.

Why we love AJ’s and this event….It’s great to see new businesses doing well and we love cracking independents like AJ’s. We love what it’s brought to Heswall. The tea room is very popular but it’s important to remember that they have an abundance of gin and host great events and this fantastic gin tasting and live music event is set to be very special indeed!
