We recently moved into an office in New Brighton’s Victoria Quarter — the regeneration project that’s starting to create quite a storm! There’s been a great deal of street art popping up in the area and as a result one pub has become quite possibly the quirkiest and most colourful pub in the Wirral.

The Harbour, a ship themed pub located in the heart of the Victoria Quarter, has been covered in street art — with a mermaid in the sea, a giant eye, a man, a howling wolf and a pirate. The pirate was designed by the wonderfully talented local street artist Adam Bresnen and is a self portrait.

The fascinating works of art are becoming quite a talking point as more and more people are flocking to the area and The Harbour is one of the businesses at the centre of conversation. One thing for sure is there aren’t many pubs in the region so spectacularly decorated!

The pub is known for being a fun, friendly venue with a big focus on music and inside you’ll find all sorts of ship themed decor and decorations. Local landlord Rachel Johnson has had the pub since 2011 and it’s loved for being a community pub with a lively atmosphere and loads of character.

At The Harbour there’s bingo and a quiz every Thursday and Sunday night, play your cards right on Saturdays (all with cash prizes) and karaoke on Sundays. The pub is dog friendly, with treats available for visiting dogs, and whereas you may visit as a stranger — you’ll almost certainly leave as a friend.

At The Harbour they have a great range of cask ales, lagers and spirits — all quality and reasonably priced. If you fancy a drink on a Monday they offer Guinness and Carlsberg at just £2.50 a pint and cask ales at just £2.20 a pint. Whenever you visit, you’ll be made to feel welcome and greeted with a smile!
