Having an office in the heart of New Brighton’s vibrant new Victoria Quarter has allowed us to explore some of the area’s thriving little gems. One such place is the multi award winning vintage tea room, Remember When tea room. Here we showcase what it’s about and why it’s so special….

What’s Remember When about?
Situated on Victoria Parade just off the promenade in New Brighton, Remember When tea room is a quirky vintage tea room oozing with nostalgia and fascinating features — with fancy crockery and staff in waitress uniforms. Opened 6 years ago by Lesley Ellis, it has won Wirral Life and Cheshire Life awards, a Good Food award and has featured on the ITV news!
Open 7 days a week from 10am until 4pm, it’s hugely popular due its unique appeal and therefore booking is advisable! With an abundance of timeless antique pieces to marvel at during a visit, you’re likely to notice something different each time — whilst music from the likes of Frank Sinatra transports you to time gone by.

What’s on the menu?
Remember When tea room is famous for its quality breakfasts, tea, coffee, sandwiches, pies, pastries, sausage rolls, scones, cakes and more. All produce is sourced locally and made fresh on site each day. Their home made pork pies come courtesy of celebrity chef Paul Askew’s recipe and their scones and cakes are heavenly!
Remember When tea room has an amazing value afternoon tea offering — unlimited tea and coffee and choose your own sandwiches and cakes for just £14.95 per person. The tea room is perfect for special occasions (particularly Mothers Day, Christmas and birthdays) and they have gift vouchers available.

Our visit….
We had a breakfast and coffee with owner Lesley who told us: “It’s been an amazing 6 years here and I’ve loved all the special moments people have had in our tea room. We offer free meals for those over 100 years old and it’s popular for those with Alzheimers as all the vintage features evoke memories for them.”
Lesley continued: “I guess you could say there’s no place like this around — we’re very unique and quirky! I called it Remember When as it’s the kind of place you can say ‘remember when Nan used to have one of those’ — there are so many talking points here and it’s good to talk. We have people from far and wide visiting and we love meeting so many lovely people!”

What’s not to love about this fascinating little gem in New Brighton? With so much vintage memorabilia to marvel at, it really is like taking a trip down memory lane and transporting yourself into the past. We love their ethos and their commitment to providing visitors with an unforgettable experience like no other.
