If you haven’t already heard, the fabulous Lush have opened a huge new store in Liverpool and it’s the biggest on the planet! The new cosmetics store on Church Street is an Aladdin’s cave of smells, sounds and experiences including a spa with an array of unique immersive treatments and we visited for a spa experience to see what all the fuss is about….

The new Lush store is truly something to behold! There are 3 floors with so much going on, featuring thousands of bath, shower, hair, face and body products as well as fragrances. There’s are plants throughout, a luxurious hair salon, a florist, a culture corner and of course a spa with 6 treatment rooms.

We were greeted with beaming smiles when we visited, as Lush pride themselves on top quality service from genuinely good people. The sense of calm you feel upon entering the store is quite something — so much greenery, so many smells and so many colours! There’s definitely something special about Lush and it’s a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre!

We were taken to the spa on the top floor of the building and were seated in the relaxation area, with lemon water to sooth our senses. The lovely Emily then talked us through our forthcoming couples Synaesthesia treatment — 80 minutes of multi-sensory bliss with music, colours, smells, hot stones and a full body massage. We chose from a selection of words and fragrances to create an experience tailored to us.

The Synaesthesia experience is a true journey of the senses, a science and an art. Starting with bubbling, smoking concoctions of fragrances, calming lighting from their unique lighting system and music from their 52 piece orchestra, it takes you on a dream-like journey of indulgence.

During the experience we enjoyed hot stones from our masseuses, Emily and Laura, before a slow, light to medium synchronised full body massage side by side, using massage bars bespoke to us. The Synaesthesia spa treatment is much more than just a massage — it’s an experience like no other, and it was so calming and soothing I fell asleep for the last 15 minutes or so!

Following our experience we felt like new born babies — fully rejuvenated, revitalised and revived! We drank herbal tea in the relaxation area whilst we came back down to earth but could barely speak after such an overwhelmingly calming experience! One thing for sure is nowhere does spa treatments quite like Lush!
