Raves R Us is an interactive theatre show that documents a fascinating story about the rave scene and the audience gets involved too! It’s wild, it’s wacky, it’s wonderful and we absolutely love it! Loosely based on a true story, Raves R Us is about Toys R Us closing down and four soon to be redundant colleagues planning what to do next. The four friends find out about an underground warehouse party and after attending, they plot a huge rave in one of the Toys R Us warehouses — a big money making scheme that will bail them out following redundancy.

Raves R Us is a stroke of theatrical genius and captures the rave scene amazingly. The characters all have their on unique personality and can be easily related to and as the performance goes on the audience feels a real connection with them — we all know people from the rave scene that these characters represent.

The laugh a minute show features comical interactions between the characters, as they try to use their love of partying to make something of their lives, and a nostalgic soundtrack that will give you goosebumps. The production would be excellent as a spectacle alone, however what makes this so very special is the audience participation.

Throughout the performance, the cast interact with the audience — talking to us, sitting on our laps, having banter with us, giving us drugs (fake haha) to hide and making us all get out of our seats to dance as if we’re in the rave with them! Raves R Us had us completely engrossed in the story and performance and it was so interactive that, I’ll be completely honest, I felt like I was on something! A hilarious, energetic, immersive production that taps into the rave culture in an ingenious fashion — Raves R Us is a must experience extravaganza!

The story involves twists and turns and trials and tribulations, resulting in a huge rave at the end. The audience were asked to participate in an exhilarating rave scene at the end and when the theatre lights were turned back on, the cast had secretly disappeared from the dance floor only to appear looking down on us from the balcony above.

This amazing show from multi award winning Naughty Corner Productions returned to Liverpool following their debut at Glastonbury! The Glastonbury performance was hugely popular and this recent four day Liverpool performance was a bit hit, so expect more dates announced soon! One thing for sure is there’s nothing quite like this out there and you won’t want to miss it when it returns!
